Zine Poster Show
About the Exhibition
Our Glasgow members have been contributing short stories, memories, poems, photographs, and illustrations to our zines (mini-magazines) published monthly since winter 2022. The themes include making friends, preserving traditions, determination in the face of challenges, and other aspects of migrant life in Scotland. The writings come in English and other languages.
Each zine contains a poster from a local artist with experience of migration. The artists have come to Scotland from all around the world - from Canada to Yemen to the Canary Islands.
The posters have been exhibited in several venues across Glasgow. The exhibition is accompanied by a podcast featuring seven of the zine poster artists who talk about their art and migration.
The zines and posters are available for free. You can download them from the individual zine pages below. Type ‘how to fold a zine’ in your search bar for easy folding instructions. You can also pick up a copy at our Glasgow office and events.
We welcome new contributors, so please sign up if you’d like to write a story or submit a photograph or an illustration via our Google Form.
The zines are part of our Putting Ourselves in the Picture project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
